Alpenwurm's worm humus is a biological, organic fertilizer and has been analyzed as an organic fertilizer by the Austrian Agency for Food Safety (AGES). After the earthworms have eaten all kinds of plant-based, organic material together with positive microorganisms, this biomass passes through the digestive tract of the worms. Using enzymes and biochemical processes, the nutrients in the worms' bodies are made available to plants, enriched and pH-neutralized.
The earthworms' excretions are then bound in the form of many small balls (so-called "clay-humus complexes"). Over-fertilizing the plants is not possible - the roots cannot burn on the worm humus and only take as many nutrients as they really need. The countless and positive microorganisms enter into a symbiosis with the plant roots and revitalize the soil.
Recommended use: It can be used all year round and can be done by hand. Mix the potting soil with 5% to 30% worm humus or work it directly into the planting hole or seed furrow - up to 1 liter for heavy feeders (e.g. tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, pumpkins, etc.), up to 500ml for medium feeders and up to 100ml for light feeders. Worm humus can also be sprinkled directly onto the surface of the soil, lightly worked in and then watered over - 2 liters per m² for vegetable beds, 1 liter per m² for lawns. For potted plants, sprinkle approx. 1 tablespoon of worm humus per liter of pot content per month on top - then work it in lightly (with a fork) and water. To make "liquid fertilizer": add approx. 1 liter of worm humus to 10 liters of water, stir and leave to stand for 24 hours. The mixture can then be sprayed or watered.
